The goal of this project was to find something beautiful or odd and submerging the model into it. We truly just wanted to showcase the floral arrangement we picked out as if it was engulfing the model entirely.

“This concept originally came to be because of my liking of Spanish collage art. I felt inspired and wanted to see how Gavin and I could make it into something else entirely for us. I wanted to make the first one simple so we started with just that for the portrait. After that we headed to Giant Eagle and decided on two types of flowers we thought would photograph well.

After makeup and wardrobe were choosen, photos were taken in about 20 minutes. So, that left Gavin with the labor of editing! 👀 Besides the usual color grading and retouching, he spent a decent amount of time meticulously cutting out flowers we shot at several different angles and laying them about like a sophisticated sticker book until I became engulfed in the beauty of the floral arrangement.

We were not fully aware of what the outcome was going to be when we began at the beginning of the day. However, we are quite happy with the finished project and are excited to be doing much more with this series together.” – Jamie Livingston, Project Creative Director
